The Ranch style home is a domestic architectural style originating in the western United States, noted for its long, close-to-the-ground profile and wide open layout.
With roots in Spanish colonial architecture, the American Ranch style developed throughout the 1940’s and remained popular up until the 1970’s as a result of a massive demand for housing.
Fusing the ideals of modernism with western architecture, the ranch emphasized wide-open living spaces to create an informal and casual style of living.
