Popularized in the 30’s and 40’s, the Art Deco Style exhibits itself in schools, apartments, and commercial buildings across Colorado.

Art deco is a style of visual arts and design that first made its appearance at the end of World War I, A pastiche of many different styles it aimed for modernism. During the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes located in Paris Art Deco received global attention. Making use of stepped facades, geometric forms, and decorative elements that included chevron and zigzag patterns and stylized floral and geometric motifs.
